Airport Transfers at Couples Resort in Jamaica
Transfers between Couples and Montego Bay Airport are included. Arrival flight information is to be provided prior to the arrival date (on making reservation). Departure information is provided by the guest on check-in. The hotel will re-confirm departure flight.
On arrival at Montego Bay, guests should proceed o the Tropical Tours desk, located outside Customs, and inform the representative that they are guests of Couples.

Couples Ocho Rios Property Description
Location:
Situated on 19 acres of beach front property, 5 miles east of Ocho Rios, one of Jamaica's major shopping areas (approx. 10 minutes drive). Sixty-five (65) miles from Donald Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay (approx. 2 hours drive).
Accommodations:
206 rooms total. All rooms have either ocean or mountain view. Rooms are located in the main building, west wing, east wing, south wing, or in the garden villas. One bedroom suites are located in either the main building or in the garden villas.
Electrical System:
110 volts/50 cycles. Adapters are not available.
Aviary:
Located in the garden. A varied collection of birds.
Beach:
White sand beach. length: 1053 ft., width: 70 ft.
Tower Isle:
Couples' own private island for 'au natural' sunbathing. Open 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Island has a swim-up pool bar, hammocks, lounge chairs. Snacks are available. Chicken, sandwiches, patties, fries, hamburgers, hot dogs (done to order). Guests may be transported by boat at their convenience or swim, if they are able to. There are two (2) rafts along the way where swimmers may rest.
Tropical Mini Jungle:
Located in the garden. Path leads through jungle. Two jacuzzis are located in jungle (seating 2).
Jacuzzi:
Three accommodating 12 people. Two located near the main pool & one on the north side of the west building. Two accommodating 2 people. Located in secluded garden/jungle areas. Private outdoor jacuzzis located in the One Bedroom Villa Suites.
Pools:
Main pool with 10 ft. diving board. length: 75ft., width: 45 ft. , depth: 12 ft. Private plunge pools located in the Luxury Junior Villa Suite & Luxury One Bedroom Villa Suite. Swim-up pool bar located on Tower Isle.

Offsite Activities:
Catamaran Sunset Cruise.
Guests board the catamaran on by the beach and are taken to Shaw Park beach where they may swim for 15 - 20 minutes. Sodas & rum punch are complimentary on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. Vessel departs at 4:00 pm. Approximately 3 hours. Sign up at Guest Services desk by 9:00 am. on the day of cruise. Refreshments served.

Plantation Tour
Educational tour of a Jamaican plantation where guests may learn about the crops grown on the island.

Snorkeling:

Guests are transported via boat to the designated snorkeling area: Coral reef 300 ft offshore. Reef extends along most of the North Coast. Snorkeling may only be done in the designated area and guests may not go out of view of the attendant. DO NOT touch reef.
Sunfish (sailing):
9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Done in same area as windsurfing.
Lessons at 10:00 am & 2:00 pm.
Swimming:
Allowed in designated (roped area) for safety. There are two rafts offshore where guests may rest. If the guests are able swimmers, it is possible to swim to Tower Isle.
Water skiing:
8:30 am - 12:30 pm
1 person at a time.
Skiing is done in a cove at the east end of the property. No riders in the boat. Each trip is for as long as the guest desires unless there are others waiting, then it is limited to 300 yards (approx. 10 minutes).
Ski clinic at 9:00 am for beginners.
Water Trike:
9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Two (2) trikes, 2 persons each.
Windsurfing:
9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Lessons at 10:00 am & 2:00 pm.
DIVE INFORMATION
Three (3) dives per day: 9:00 am : Certified divers only 60-100 ft. (3 min safety stop at 15 ft.)
Noon : Resort dive 40-60 ft.
2:00 pm : Anyone 40-60 ft.
All COUPLES guests are guaranteed 1 dive per day, 2 dives if space permits. Certified divers must have 'C' (certification) card with them. No exceptions. Pool check required for all divers (remove & replace equipment in pool).
All divers must obtain a medical certificate from heir doctor.
Dive Locations:
The dive sites are determined by the Dive Master. Dives may be cancelled because of unsafe conditions at Dive Master's discretion. Dive locations depend on weather, visibility, skill level of divers & currents.
Furthest dive location is 10 min from COUPLES. 100 ft wall dive is done once per week (group of certified divers only)
2 wreck dives available on request:
a: 140 ft. ship at 60 ft. (near Sans Souci - 5 min.)
b: 110 ft. ship at 56 ft. (near Boscobel Beach - 10 min.)
New divers are taken to a shallow reef near to Ocho Rios.
NOTE: Although a diver may be certified, it is the Dive Master who determines the dive location depending on the diver's experience. Dive Master and/or instructors accompany every dive. No unsupervised diving is allowed per Jamaican Law.
Equipment:
All necessary equipment is provided complimentary.
Some wet suits are available. Sherwood regulators with octopus. Sherwood BCD's. Dacor BCD's. 80 cu ft tanks filled to 3000 PSI. Graphite full fins (all sizes). BOAT: 28 ft Seascip, 175 HP outboard engine, tank racks. 10 divers maximum. Decompression chamber in Discovery Bay (20 miles).
Resort Course: (beginner diver).
9:00 am Monday through Saturday in the main pool (no Sunday lessons).Swim test required.
2 hour lessons.
Dive the following day.
P.A.D.I. Certification: Full P.A.D.I. open water certifications available at an additional cost of $260.00 USD. Price subject to change without notification.
It takes 3 half day sessions in order to complete the course.
These days do not have to be consecutive as the instructor will arrange the training around the guests' vacation.

NOTE: It is advisable to buy the Open Water Manual at a dive shop in your own country, as it costs $54.00 USD to import each manual into Jamaica. This will be an additional cost to the student if Couples provides the manual.
Pool training:
16 skills taught, including fin pivot, remove & replace equipment (underwater & surface), buddy breathing, alternate air source breathing, tired diver tows, emergency swimming descent, snorkel to regulator exchange, compass navigation, regulator recovery, clearing mask.
Open water training:
*Four (4) open water dives on which pool skills taught are duplicated.
*2 at 40 ft.
*2 at 60 ft maximum.
Academics:
*Lectures.
*Quizzes.
*Final Exam ( 50 multiple choice questions) - Passing score 75%.
Note: Upon successfully completing the course, a temporary card is issued. The student then sends his P.I.C. (positive identification card) to P.A.D.I. with a photograph. The actual card will be sent to the student two weeks later.
Student Referrals:
This is designed for students who take all classroom & pool testing in a foreign country with a certified P.A.D.I. instructor. The four (4) water dives are done at the resort. The student receives only the P.I.C. from COUPLES as the logbook should be provided by the initial instructor.

Certified copy of Adoption, Deed Poll or other official name change document papers if applicable. The couple is required to be on property at least two full business days in advance in order to finalize wedding arrangements.
All documentation, including a certified check or international money order in the amount of $150 payable to the applicable resort, must be received no later than 30 days prior to your arrival at the resort. For weddings booked within 21 days, the certified check or international money order in the amount of $300, including the late processing fee, and must be sent by overnight mail to the address below.
Renewal of Vows:
Say "I DO" again to your loved one in a special Vow Renewal Ceremony for only US$100. Vow Renewal Guests will receive everything we offer in the Wedding Ceremony, except his/her 1/2 hour massages and t-shirts. A certified check or international money order payable to Couples Resorts, must be received no later than 30 days prior to arrival. Honeymoon Clients:
The fairytale has begun and as a special congratulatory gift, we offer our honeymoon guests a complimentary bottle of champagne delivered to your room upon arrival, as well as a half hour his/hers massage. Please make sure the individual resort is notified that you are on your honeymoon.
